The main voting for the 2026 British Columbia (BC) General Local Election will be held tomorrow, Saturday, October 17, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
This election is attracting significant interest from voters as the most diverse range of Korean candidates in history have thrown their hats into the ring for major municipalities in Metro Vancouver and Vancouver Island. A total of six Korean candidates (five for City Council and one for Board of Education) are awaiting voters' choice at polling stations tomorrow.
Paul Choi, representing the Burnaby South-Metrotown constituency, is running for re-election in the B.C. provincial election to be held on October 24.

■ Essential Voter Checklist and Voting Method
No restrictions on designated polling stations (select the nearest one)
Voters do not need to go to a specific polling station designated based on their address.
You may visit any polling station located within the jurisdiction of your local government (city or township) that is closest and most convenient to you, depending on your route.
However, since voting is not possible at polling stations in other municipalities (e.g., a Coquitlam resident visiting a Burnaby polling station), you must visit a polling station within your administrative district of residence.
Bring two types of identification (on-site registration available)
Even if you are not pre-registered on the electoral roll, you can register on-site on election day and vote immediately.
You must bring two valid identification documents that can prove your identity (photo/signature) and residential address.
Examples: BC Driver's License/BCID, BC Service Card, Passport, Certificate of Citizenship, Utility Bill, Lease Agreement, etc. (Personal signature required on at least one item).
Voting Hours and Curbside Voting
Voting hours are from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and if you line up before the closing time of 8 p.m., you can vote even after the closing time has passed.
Curbside voting, which allows voters with mobility difficulties to vote while remaining in their vehicles, is supported at all polling stations.
